Chhurpi (Dog Chew) Manufacturing Process Flowchart
OUR WHOLE MANUFACTURING PROCESS
We collect our yak milk through direct relationships with more than 1,000 farmers in the Himalayas of East of Nepal. Our loyal farmers are well trained in the manufacturing of the chews with 100 % customer satisfaction. Our farmers have been expert and practising our chew making process from ancient times.
While manufacturing the chews. when the milk is boiled in 212 degree Fahrenheit for 45 minutes – 1 hour, the butter should be extracted from the milk in order to remove all the fat from the milk. The remaining milk is used to make the dog chew. We have to wait till the milk cools down. We add whey in the milk to coagulate the milk. The mixture needs to be boiled to make a cheese formation. Then the whey is discardded and cheese is separated. The cheese needs to be compressed for drying process.
The cheese is wrapped inside a burlap bag to squeeze all the moisture out of the cheese. The wrapped cheese should be dried for 15 – 20 days to make it solid hard. After the druing is done, we keep the chews in the smoking chamber to give the chews a smoky flavor.
PROCESSING OF THE PRODUCT
When the chews are completely dried, they are then transported to our processing unit in Birtamod, Jhapa, where they will be stored in order to maintain good quality. We then cut the chews according to the customer’s demand and orders. the employees of our processing unit clean the chews using lime juice, salt with buffing machine. We cut the chews in different available sizes. We ship the chews to USA, Japan and Canada as of now. We sell the chews also to the re-sellers of Nepal.
